Orientation for New Grad Students

The Orientation for New Grad Students is a bilingual, virtual event open to all graduate students, but targeted to those who are incoming. This session will provide an introduction to the GSAED, as well as
an overview of our structure and offerings.

This session is offered twice and you can attend either one of them!

BIPOC Student Support Q&A


(This activity is now full)


This is a bilingual, virtual event open to all graduate students, but targeted to those who are BIPOC. This session will cover topics such as resources for support, finding community, tips and tricks to succeeding
in grad school, and advice from senior students. Come prepared with any questions you may have and our panel of BIPOC graduate psychology students, spanning multiple years of the program, will try their
best to answer them.

Walking Tour of Campus

This is a bilingual, in-person event open to all graduate students, but targeted to those who have not yet studied on campus. This accessible walking tour will cover many important features on the main campus.

Ice Cream Truck

This is a bilingual, in-person event open to all graduate students. The Merry Dairy will be on campus providing free ice cream cones on the patio of Cafe Nostalgica. Gluten-free and dairy-free/vegan options will be available.

Sports, Lawn Games

This is a bilingual, in-person event open to all graduate students. Recreational activities will be enjoyed at Strathcona Park, in the spirit of fun. No experience in sports is required and equipment will
be provided.

Museum Of Nature

This is a bilingual, in-person event open to all graduate students. The Museum of Nature offers intriguing exhibits on mammals, birds, bugs, and more. Tickets are free.

Mental Health Workshop

This is a bilingual, in-person event open to all graduate students. A registered psychotherapist will discuss resources and supports offered by the university and engage students in interactive activities
on mental health and wellness.

Welcome Week Dinner and Networking

This is a bilingual, in-person event open to all graduate students. A free catered dinner will bring Cafe Nostalgica back to life for one night only. Vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options will be available.

Lady Dive – Amphibus

This is a bilingual, in-person event open to all graduate students. Discover the Ottawa and Gatineau region aboard a bus that travels on land and water. For one hour, you’ll have the opportunity to discover
the beauty of the capital and its lovely landscapes.

Art and Play

This is a bilingual, in-person event open to all graduate students. Art and Play — Creative Zine Making

Come engage in some creative play with your fellow graduate students. Join us in learning how to create a mini book of creative fun – otherwise known as a Zine. The event will take place on Saturday, September
14th at 2:30pm at the Grad House (601 Cumberland Street) in room 307.

As usual, no experience in art is required, and materials will be provided! See you there!
