GSAÉD Consultation

Given anticipated changes to the law governing the administration of not-for-profit corporations in Ontario, the Graduate Students’ Association is undertaking a consultation of its membership regarding required changes to its structure, services, and practices.

The consultation will take place in the Grad House (601 Cumberland street), Tuesday, November 25 at 18:30.

Schedule:
18:30 – Information session on GSAÉD and current issues
19:00 – Break out groups (external, student life, university affairs, finance and internal)
19:45-20:00 – Free dinner at Café Nostalgica for students who attended both sessions

Update to hours of operation

Until November 2014, as a pilot project, our main office will be open longer on Mondays!

Here are the current hours of operation:

Monday: 8:30 – 19:00
Tuesday: 8:30 – 16:00
Wednesday: 8:30 – 16:00
Thursday: 8:30 – 16:00
Friday: 8:30 – 16:00

ELECTIONS – FALL 2014

There are positions to fill on the GSAÉD Board of Directors as well as other graduate student representative positions.

Board of Directors Positions

GSAÉD invites all graduate students who wish to get involved with the student community to submit their candidacy for the positions of Directors Without Portfolios (4 positions), Director General of Elections (1 position), and Chair (1 position). For more information on these positions, please consult the GSAÉD bylaws, from By-Law VIII to By-Law XI.

2014 ACTIVIST ASSEMBLY

Students at uOttawa recently saw their tuition fees increased for the ninth consecutive year. Governments claim that there simply isn’t enough money to fund post-secondary education adequately, while they cut the taxes of large corporations and the super wealthy. Students continue to be subject to racism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, sexism, and other forms of discrimination. Colonialism continues to oppress Indigenous peoples and destroy their land.
